Emmursss, the artist name and 'creative alter ego' of 25-year-old Emma Rose Rowell, is a multidisciplinary visual artist who works with different mediums to fuse the digital and physical worlds. Playing with fashion, pop culture, and film/TV, she blends each of these references with themes of girlhood, friendship, sexuality, empowerment, and social identity. Through digital illustration, performance art, character play, and more-- Emmursss is interested in self exploration through any variety of artistic mediums. She is interested in how art can serve as a personal archive of one's desires, style, and experiences. What excites her most is discovering more about herself and the world around her through creating– regardless of what that looks like. Her most recent explorations have been a dive back into an early love of poetry, zine creation, and playing with more physical art mediums. Based in San Diego County, Emmursss is currently working on a number of digital illustrations, vignettes, and more.
